DIFC update: CSPs are now mandatory for non-exempt Prescribed Companies.

As of July 2026, the updated DIFC Prescribed Company Regulations have introduced new requirements for Corporate Service Providers to be appointed for non-Exempt Prescribed Companies within six months from the enactment date.

The last few months have certainly kept us busy!

From catching up with clients and intermediaries in Dubai, to attending STEP Alpine in Switzerland, hosting our Next Gen event at Sixes London Bridge, and welcoming guests to a private dinner at Lucky Cat Bishopsgate, Europe's highest restaurant, we've had the opportunity to connect with people across a number of jurisdictions.

As much as we enjoy Teams calls, nothing beats getting together in person. Whether it's discussing what's happening across different jurisdictions, sharing ideas, or simply catching up, these moments are always valuable (and usually involve a bit of friendly competition too).

We're looking forward to more over the coming months, but for now, here are a few highlights from our recent trips and events.

Best of luck to everyone representing Jersey Hockey Men's first team this weekend as they travel off-island for what promises to be a landmark occasion for the sport.

For the first time in the sports history, the men's first team have reached the England Hockey Trophy Finals, an outstanding achievement that reflects the dedication, talent and commitment of the players, coaches and wider Jersey hockey community.

Reaching this stage is a significant milestone not only for those competing this weekend, but for the continued growth and success of hockey across the island.

We are proud to be supporting the travel of two of the competing players as they take part in this historic event, and we wish every player, coach and supporter the very best as they represent Jersey on the national stage.

Last night we were incredibly proud to receive the Simon Boas Success Story Award at the Jersey Sustainable Finance Awards in recognition of the Dalnacardoch project.

What began as a conversation with a client around values-led philanthropy has evolved into one of the most significant rewilding initiatives connected to Jersey: a 100-year restoration programme spanning 7,650 hectares of Scottish upland.

This project would not exist without our longstanding partnership with Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, whose scientific expertise and long-term stewardship have helped shape a rewilding strategy grounded in authenticity, integrity and evidence-led conservation. From peatland restoration and hydrological repair to woodland regeneration, biodiversity recovery and species protection, Dalnacardoch is being restored through a careful, measured approach that prioritises long-term ecological recovery over short-term intervention.

It feels particularly fitting that this award is given in memory of Simon Boas; an exceptional individual whose work with Durrell and Jersey Overseas Aid reflected the same commitment to meaningful, collaborative impact that underpins this project.

Whilst we are proud of the recognition, this award is not simply a reflection of what has already been achieved. It is recognition of the vision behind the project, the ambition of what remains ahead, and the collective commitment required to see a century-long restoration effort through.

Dalnacardoch is still in its earliest chapters.

Next week, four members of our team will travel to the estate to support the ongoing conservation work firsthand, and we look forward to sharing more behind the scenes as the project continues to develop.

Meaningful change only happens when people work together, and Dalnacardoch stands as proof of what can be achieved when expertise, purpose and long-term commitment align.

David recently attended the STEP Slovakia Conference in Bratislava, where he facilitated a panel discussion on succession planning.

With around 80 attendees from across the wealth management sector in the region, the focus was on a market shaped by very different historical realities. Following the Purple Revolution and the fall of communism, many of the region’s first‑generation entrepreneurs are now confronting succession for the first time, without established generational models to draw on.

We were pleased to share practical insights at an event we also attended last year as part of its inaugural conference. Our participation brings a common law perspective, helping to shape approaches that support long-term continuity and responsible stewardship.
