Studio Alvisi C. was born in 1989 by the initiative of the founding partner Paolo Alvisi who, after having worked for several years for the largest Italian Brokers and Insurance Companies as a consultant in maritime affairs. Since the beginning, the adjusting activity has been carried out in its various applications ranges, i.e. General Average and Particular Average, Loss of Hi

re, Recoveries, Salvage and Third Party Liability. Over almost 30 years of activity, more than 1,400 adjustments have been issued on behalf of the major Italian and foreign Companies, and we have also the prestige to collaborate with influential foreign adjustment firms as co-adjusters. Today, the purpose of Studio Alvisi & C. is to continue to provide maritime consulting services with the same degree of professionalism, seriousness and diligence as ever.

Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) have broken the record for the world’s biggest container ship after the 23,000 TEU MSC Gulsun was delivered on July 8, 2019.

At 400m in length, its total capacity is 23,756 TEU at any one time, making it the largest containership ever, beating the record set by the OOCL Hong Kong, also built by SHI, which was the first ever to cross the 21,000 TEU threshold.
