According to the Testo Unico on Immigration, foreign citizens who stay in Italy for tourism, business, scientific research, sports competitions, or missions, for a period of time that does not exceed ninety days, aren’t obliged to request the residence permit, since the so-called declaration of presence is sufficient. It must be carried out within eight days of arrival in Italy. The documents to be attached to the declaration of presence form are:
- Passport;
- Hospitality declaration;
- Photocopy of the identity card if the declarant is Italian;
- Photocopy of the residence permit if the declarant is foreign;
