Second alert. During the last 4-6 weeks, our mountains and nature is being destroyed by illegal plant burglars/pickers. They tear plants of the mountain sides and put them in bundles, which are sold by organised traders to other european countries for flower crowns. It's almost every day, they trespass private properties and rip out thousands and thousands of plants. Those plants are needed to hold the earth together when it rains, our nature is already volatile, recovering after several fires. They've been several times on our private properties and WE don't think it's a coïncidence that 2 houses have been burglared in Bussare during this period.
Since police don't really intervene and the Mayor cannot really do Anything about it,, we (some neighbours in lower Olivetta) have declared War on these guys and we've chased them off the mountain several Times. To make them feel highly unwelcome and not succeeding in collecting their plants. I believe WE ALL need to be on alert, to keep them away from Olivetta. It's too easy for them to rob the nature of their plants and they have a perfect undisturbed view of every property...
So don't hesitate to confront them, if WE make Life hard for them, they'll go Somewhere else.
