🎨 School and family are not the only places where we grow: free time, passions and the chance to experiment without fear of making mistakes matter too. This is the belief behind Hobby Lobby, founded in 2019 in Favoriten, Vienna's 10th district.
🧭 According to Rosa Bergmann, founder and director of the organization, educational inequalities surface after the final school bell rings, when students return to their everyday lives: if no one reaches them in those hours, something else will take that space.
🌍 Supported by UniCredit Foundation since 2023 through the Call for Education and, since 2024, with an EduFund Platform grant, the organization has expanded beyond Austria into Germany and Romania: over 1,200 courses, more than 200,000 hours of activities, around 17,000 free leisure opportunities.
🩰 Through the Junior Programme, teenagers aged 14 and above support instructors. Saskia, 14, who started out in a dance course and is now a Junior Trainer, is one of the voices in the sixth episode of Fuori Classe, the series by UniCredit Foundation with Open.
