it is a pleasure for us to present you the 1st International Summer School on Total-reflection X-ray Spectroscopy (ISS-TXRF) which will be hosted at the Department of Soil, Plant and Food Sciences of the University of Bari (Italy) from the 29th of June to the 3rd of July 2020.
TXRF is an emerging analytical technique that in the last years is expanding more and more its application fields, thanks to its cheapness, ease of use and fast sample preparation.
The Summer School will be a unique context where students, young researchers and technicians will have the opportunity to be introduced to and become confident with TXRF.
Through theoretical lessons and practical sessions given by internationally-recognized experts, participants will have the opportunity to learn or expand their knowledge about both the basics and applications of TXRF in different scientific fields such as environmental sciences, food and agriculture, cultural heritage, nanomaterials, biology, etc. Participants will have also the opportunity to present and discuss their research activities with a close interaction with lecturers and other participants.
The School is open to PhD students, researchers and technicians from both academy and private companies who are working or interested in working with TXRF.
Registration is free and open to a maximum of 25 participants.
Free registration will include:
• The attendance to all the lessons;
• Lunches from Monday (29th of June) to Friday (3rd of July);
• Social dinner (1st of July);
• School bag and teaching material
Given the high international relevance of the School, additional financial support to participants will be offered through a number of scholarships sponsored by the European X-ray Spectroscopy Association and other International Scientific Organizations. Additional information will be made available after registration.
