Leiðandi hagvísir Analytica reyndist óbreyttur í júní en gildi sl. mánaða voru endurskoðuð niðurávið. Taka þarf fram að í vísitölunni eru engir þættir sem sagt geta til um áhrif sólmyrkvans í ágúst á umsvif a.m.k. ekki svo við blasi. Hins vegar virðist samdráttur í komum ferðamanna í rénun. Þrír af s*x undirliðum hækka frá í maí. Af neikvæðum þáttum þá hafa lækkun á væntingavísitölu Gallup og samdráttur í vöruinnflutningi hafa mest að segja en af jákvæðum þáttum aukinn fiskafli og aukning debetkortaveltu innanlands. Áfram er umtalsverð óvissa tengd þróun alþjóðastjórnmála sem og óvissa í efnahagsmálum á alþjóðavettvangi.

The Analytica Composite Leading Indicator (CLI) for Iceland remained unchanged in June. However, the values for the past months were revised downwards. None of the CLI components carry a special insight as regards the potential positive impact of the full solar eclipse in August via an increase in tourism at that time. However, the decline in tourist arrivals seems to be abating. Three out of six CLI components rise on the previous month. The greatest negative impact is due to deteriorating consumer confidence during the past few months and a contraction in the volume of merchandise imports. On the positive side increased fish catches and a rise in domestic debit card spending generate most of the impact. International political developments remain as a source of considerable uncertainty as does uncertainty regarding global economic developments.

Taka þarf fram að í vísitölunni eru engir þættir sem sagt geta til um áhrif sólmyrkvans í ágúst á umsvif a.m.k. ekki svo við blasi. Hins vegar virðist samdráttur í komum ferðamanna í rénun. Athyglisvert er að vendipunktur greinist til hækkunar landsframleiðslu í byrjun ársins að því er virðist aðallega vegna loðnuvertíðar. Hækkun hagvísisins í mars vegna loðnuveiði gekk þó til baka.

The Analytica Composite Leading Indicator (CLI) for Iceland fell in May. However, the values for the past months were revised upwards. It must be noted that none of the CLI components carry a special insight as regards the potential positive impact of the full solar eclipse in August via an increase in tourism at that time. Nevertheless, the decline in tourist arrivals seems to be abating. Interestingly, there is a positive turning point in GDP at the beginning of the year which can mostly be attributed to the catch of capelin this season. The CLI rose in March for the same reason but was revised downwards and has since continued the decline.

The greatest negative impact is due to deteriorating consumer confidence during the past few months and a contraction in the volume of merchandise imports. International political developments remain as a source of considerable uncertainty as does uncertainty regarding global economic developments.
