PSU Bank closed up by 3.8%- Punjab and Sind Bank closed up by 9.9%; Central Bank of India closed up by 12%, Bank Nifty closed up by 1.16%- Axis Bank closed up by 2.7%.

Pharma, Energy, Realty and IT sectors closed in red.

Leadership for today is taken by Auto sector which closed up by 2%, FMCG sector closed up by 1.47%, Metal sector closed down by 0.81%.

TVS Motor closed up by 4.2%, Tata Consumer closed up by 3%, Hindustan Unilever closed up by 2.8%, L&T Infotech closed up by 2.6%, Latent View closed up by 4.5%, HCL Tech closes down by 2.2%, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd., closed down by 4.3%.

Markets closed in red amidst volatility as Rupee ended record low against dollar.

Sensex closed at 53,416 down by 98 points and Nifty at 15,939 down by 28 points.

Energy, Pharma and Auto sector closed marginally in green whereas PSU Bank dragged the market down by 2.21%, IT sector down by 1.58%, Bank sector down by 0.5%.

Adani Transmission Ltd., closed up by 5.8%, ONGC up by 2%, Reliance up by 0.8%; Sun pharma closed up by 2.3%.

After the news of palm oil hitting lowest level since June 2021, some FMCG companies gained a bit- Britannia closed up by 1.29%.

Midcap IT companies like Mindtree closed down by 3.93%, L&T infotech Ltd., closed down by 3.53%, Latentview closed down by 3.24%.
