1. First foreign branch of LIC of India opened on 5th October 1956 at Suva, Fiji.
2. ‘Yogakshema’, the Corporate Magazine, began as a quarterly in May 1957.
3. First Bimagram – Talni Purna village in Amravati District declared in 1958.
4. Officers’ Training College (OTC) founded at Nagpur on 16th May 1960.
5. First batch of direct recruit officers joined LIC in 1961.
6. LIC shifted from Calendar Year to Financial Year in 1963.
7. LIC’s Corporate Office ‘Yogakshema’, inaugurated by PM Jawaharlal Nehru on 26th December 1963.
8. Policyholders’ Councils introduced in 1965.
9. OTC shifted from Nagpur to Borivali, Mumbai on 9th May 1969.
10. Agents’ Clubs introduced in 1971.
11. First Central Advisory Boards (CABs) set up in 1972.
12. RCA & UCA schemes launched separately in 1979.
13. Direct recruitment of Development Officers began in 1980.
14. A commemorative silver coin issued to mark LIC’s 30th Anniversary.
15. HRD Policy introduced in 1988.
16. SDC established at Corporate Office in 1993 & FEAP launched in 17 BOs.
17. Corporate Flag & Nigam Geet (Anthem) introduced in 1994.
18. LIC adopted the Citizens’ Charter on 7th November 1997.
19. LIC website (www.licindia.in) & Jeevan Sanchar launched in 2000.
20. First ULIP ‘Bima Plus’ launched on 12th February 2001.
21. Bima School concept launched in 2003. On 8th March 2003 (Women’s Day), Rajgurunagar village became the first Women Bima Gram.
22. First SSO (later Satellite Office) inaugurated at Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi on 2nd September 2005.
23. LIC’s Web Portal inaugurated on 15th November 2003.
24. Digital Application ANANDA launched on 19th November 2020.
