SBSC BANK.Ltd The Bank is situated in Sulthan Bathery a small town in Wayanad district of Kerala. From a humble beginning, the bank has made very good progress.

The Sulthan Bathery Bank was started to boost the agrarian economy of the region. The area of operation included Sulthan Bathery, Nenmeni, & Noolpuzha panchayath Wayanad is famous for its tea and coffee plantations, spices cultivation etc. It was first registered as a multipurpose co-operative society on 20th November 1951. At the time of its inception the bank had just 11 members with Rs. 65/- ea

ch as share. The area of operation included Sulthan Bathery, Nenmeni, & Noolpuzha panchayath (Villages: Sulthan bathery, Nenmeni, Noolpuzha, Kidangad, Kuppadi & Cheeral). The bank was later converted as an agricultural bank on 5th July 1957, which was again converted as Sulthan Bathery Service Co-operative Bank Ltd., on 7th February 1962. The head office and 3 of its branches are functioning in its own building. The Bank is now classified as “A” in audit, classified as “Special Grade Bank” as per section 80 of KCS Act 1969 and are the award winners for the “Best Service Co-op Bank” in the state. To top the charts the bank has now declared dividend at 20% to its members.
