Tax Audit A.Y. 2026-27 | Clause 44
Clause 44 should not be treated as a simple GST purchase reconciliation.
For reporting, the auditor should consider reportable expenditure from the books, including relevant capital expenditure, and classify it based on the GST registration status of the supplier.
A proper reconciliation between books, vendor GST status and Clause 44 reporting is important before finalising Form 3CD.
ICAI has also issued its Revised 2026 Guidance Note on Tax Audit u/s 44AB, making accurate clause-wise reporting particularly relevant for A.Y. 2026-27.

Tax Audit AY 2026-27 | MSME Reporting

Key check: MSE Status → Acceptance Date → Due Date → Actual Payment Date

Remember: Section 43B(h) applies to Micro & Small Enterprises, not Medium Enterprises.

*CIBIL is no longer just a credit score. Today, it can directly influence your loan eligibility, interest rate and overall banking credibility.*

That is why this RBI action deserves attention.

RBI has imposed a *₹26.82 lakh penalty on TransUnion CIBIL Limited* for failing to credit prescribed compensation to certain eligible complainants within the stipulated timeline.

Under RBI’s framework, complaints relating to correction or updating of credit information are required to be resolved within the prescribed period. If the complaint remains unresolved beyond *30 calendar days, an eligible complainant may be entitled to compensation of ₹100 per day of delay*.

So, if your CIBIL report contains an incorrect loan, wrong overdue, inaccurate payment status or any other error, do not simply ignore it as a “system issue.” Once a complaint is raised, there is a regulatory timeline for its resolution.

The key message is simple: Your credit history matters, but your rights as a borrower matter too.
