Petronet LNG Limited, one of the fastest growing world-class companies in the Indian energy sector, has set up the country's first LNG receiving and regasification terminal at Dahej, Gujarat, and another terminal at Kochi, Kerala. While the Dahej terminal has a nominal capacity of 10 MMTPA [equivalent to 40 MMSCMD of natural gas], the Kochi terminal has a capacity of 5 MMTPA [equivalent to 20 MMSC

MD of natural gas]. The company is in the process to build a third terminal at Gangavaram, Andhra Pradesh. Petronet LNG is at the forefront of India's all-out national drive to ensure the country's energy security in the years to come. Formed as a Joint Venture by the Government of India to import LNG and set up LNG terminals in the country, it involves India's leading oil and natural gas industry players. Our promoters are GAIL (India) Limited (GAIL), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).

Petronet LNG Limited's Dahej LNG Terminal since receiving its first LNG vessel in January 2004, reached a historic milestone with the berthing of its 4,000th ship on August 26, 2026.

To mark the occasion, Director (Technical) Shri Pramod Narang joined the team at Dahej, with whom he also held a Town Hall meeting in the afternoon. Long-serving employees shared fond memories reflecting on the terminal’s growth, followed by a celebratory cake-cutting. In his address, Shri Narang commended the team's dedication, outlined the company's future roadmap and motivated the employees to propel PLL to even greater heights.

Petronet LNG Limited achieved a landmark operational milestone on August 26, 2026, with the successful arrival of its 4,000th LNG vessel, the Cool Explorer, at the Dahej LNG Terminal in Gujarat.

To mark the occasion, Director (Technical) Shri Pramod Narang, alongside members of the Petronet team, visited the vessel to felicitate the Captain and crew with a commemorative memento.During the onboard ceremony, Shri Narang underscored the terminal’s pivotal role in bolstering India’s energy security and supporting its transition toward a sustainable energy future.

A remarkable journey that energises India’s future!

PLL proudly marks a historic milestone with the receipt of its 4000th LNG cargo shipment at the Dahej LNG Terminal, Gujarat on 26th August 2026.
Amidst global challenges including disruptions in LNG supply chains arising from prolonged geopolitical conflicts in the Middle east, this achievement remains remarkable, marking an additional 1000 LNG cargoes in a little over four years.

As India's largest LNG gateway since 2004, operating in the challenging and turbulent waters of the Gulf of Khambhat, Dahej LNG Terminal continues to play a pivotal role in supporting the nation's growing energy needs and energy transition ambitions, while upholding world-class standards of safety, security, sustainability and environmental stewardship.
