developing the micro enterprise sector into a viable economic sector, for which various
developmental interventions including financial/ business literacy programmes are planned. Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), a scheme to finance income generating small
business enterprises was launched on 08 April 2015 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, whereby
all banks are required to finance micro entrepreneurs upto ` 10 lakh, irrespective of whether
they avail of refinance support from MUDRA or not. For small business, loans upto ` 50000/- is available under the ‘Shishu’ category
and beyond ` 50,000 and up to Rs.5 lakh under the ‘Kishor’ category. It also offers loans
beyond ` 5 lakh and up to ` 10 lakh under the “Tarun” category. PMMY loans will be extended by all Banks such as PSU banks, Regional Rural Banks (RRBs),
Cooperative Banks, Private Sector Banks, Foreign Banks, Micro Finance Institutions and
Non-Banking Finance Companies. During 2015-16, a target of ` 1,22,188 crore was set,
which has been surpassed by the end of the year. For the F.Y. 2016-17, a target of ` 180000
crore has been set. The achievements under PMMY is captured on a weekly basis through a
dedicated PMMY Portal. Apart from refinance, MUDRA will also provide credit guarantee
support to the eligible loans given under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.

PM Modi Launches UDAN Scheme in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) – PM Narendra Modi launches UDAN scheme in Shimla Himachal Pradesh. Regional air connectivity scheme UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) is a scheme under which the fares of flights will be capped at Rs 2500 per seat per hour. PM Modi flags off the first UDAN flight under Regional Connectivity Scheme, on Shimla-Delhi sector at Shimla airport. PM Modi also flags off the inaugural UDAN flights on Kadapa–Hyderabad and Nanded-Hyderabad sectors.

Details of UDAN Scheme

1. Under UDAN Scheme the central government provides the
facility to travel by air in Rs.2500 only for the journey up to 500
km.
2. Under this programme, the government intends to connect 45
unserved and under-served airports. Five airlines were awarded
128 routes under the scheme last month after a bidding
process.
3. The selected airline operator would have to provide 50 per cent
of the flight capacity with a cap of Rs 2500 per hour on fixed
wing aircraft and a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 13 on
helicopters with the same price cap.
4. The airline companies operating under the scheme are Air
India-subsidiary Airline Allied Services, SpiceJet, Air Deccan, Air
Odisha and Turbo Megha.
5. Under UDAN Scheme, airlines would be extended viability gap
funding, for which money is partly raised by levying up to Rs
8,500 on flights operating in major routes like Delhi and
Mumbai.

So now the common man of the country can travel by air under UDAN Scheme worth RS.2500 only. Flights under the UDAN scheme would connect airports spread across more than 20 states and union territories including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The airports that will be connected to each other under the scheme include Shimla, Bhatinda, Neyveli, Bilaspur, Cooch Behar, Nanded and Kadapa.

PM Narendra Modi launches Pregnant Aid Scheme for pregnant women. This scheme has been launched in all the states of India. The main objective of the scheme is to bring down the maternal mortality rate by increasing the number of institutional deliveries across the nation. AP Government to Introduce Direct Benefit Transfer System for All Welfare Schemes

Andhra Pradesh government is going to introduce direct benefit transfer system for all the welfare schemes of central government and state government. CM Chandrababu Nadu will launch this system soon for the benefit of the citizen of the state Andhra Pradesh. The state government of Andhra Pradesh will also include all scheduled caste and scheduled tribes programs under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The State government has issued circulars to all departments to upgrade IT applications as the CGG has taken up the task creation of a portal for each department to update the beneficiary information.

1. The newly announced Rs 8,000 fertilizer subsidy to each farmer

3. At present, the government is disbursing benefits of the old age

Railwire Saathi Project – The Indian Railway is going to set up free wifi connectivity on 7000 stations across the country. Railwire Saathi Project will also provide services like e-commerce, online banking, insurance schemes, e-ticketing for buses and trains. The Railwire Saathi initiative is aimed at providing connectivity in rural areas and offer job opportunities as well. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said that Railwire Saathi will be rolled out across 7,000 stations in India.

2. The total cost of Railwire Saathi project is estimated to be
between Rs 1,500 crore and Rs 2,000 crore and a timeframe of

Stations such as Jagdalpur, Deoband, Barauni, Bettiah, Khushinagar, and Koderma, among several others, could be shortlisted for the pilot run.

Yogi Adityanath Free Housing Scheme Uttar Pradesh for Poors

Here comes a good news for the poor people of the state Uttar Pradesh to get free houses under Yogi Adityanath free housing scheme. The state government of Uttar Pradesh will provide free houses to the poor, BPL, EWS and MIG people. BJP government promised in its manifesto before the election to provide free houses to the poor people of the state.

Himachal Pradesh government started Unemployment Allowance Scheme 2017 to provide Berojgari Bhatta to unemployed youth of the state. Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh announces this scheme in HP budget 2017-18. HP government will provide unemployment allowance from this month April 2017.

Eligibility Criteria for Berojgari Bhatta Yojana Himachal Pradesh:

1. To take unemployment under Berojgari Bhatta Yojana Himachal
Pradesh the applicant must be unemployed.
2. He/She should have passed plus two from any board/university
recognized by the H.P. Government.
3. He must be registered with any employment exchange as on
date of application for one year to take the benefit of Berojgari
Bhatta Yojana Himachal Pradesh.
4. The age of the candidate should be more than 20 years and
less than 35 years.
5. He/she should not have been dismissed from government
services.
6. The annual income of the family and the spouse of the

Samajik Suraksha Yojana – West Bengal government introduces Samajik Suraksha Yojana to merge 5 social security schemes. CM Mamta Banerjee launches Samajik Suraksha Yojana. Around 5 crore people will be benefitted with the introduction of Social Security Yojana with around 1 crore direct beneficiaries.
