More than a roof — it's a path to education and jobs.

In , the World Bank Group-supported Hostels are helping young women from different cities, small towns and rural areas access safe, affordable housing when they move for education and jobs. For many, this isn't a convenience — it's the reason they can move at all.

Today, runs 25 hostels housing around 5,300 women across the state, with 27 more on the way.

Behind the numbers are real stories: a UPSC aspirant from Kolkata, an IT audit consultant now at a Big Four firm, a medical imaging intern from the Andaman Islands and a fashion design graduate building her career — all building their futures with a safe place to call home.

India's female labor force participation stands at around 35%. Closing that gap could add real momentum to the country's growth — and safe housing is proving to be a key piece of that puzzle.
