Key takeaways: understand thresholds, spot genuine exemptions, and prepare for reporting deadlines. Share with your finance team.

Most CFOs assume the export exemption covers them. It exempts the audit, not the records — and the statutory auditor still reports on it under CARO.

Congratulations on clearing the CMA Final — that’s a huge milestone. Now, here’s a clear, practical plan to use the next 30 days and the first 18 months to build a lasting career.

1) Apply for Associate Membership right away. Check your training record, principal’s empanelment and upload clear scans of mark sheets and certificates. Pay fees and note your application number.
2) Don’t rush the Certificate of Practice. COP is powerful, but sequence it after relevant experience unless you plan to practise immediately.
3) Fix your professional profile: update LinkedIn and your CV with specific training tasks (e.g., prepared monthly cost sheets; reconciled cost records under CRA-1). Concrete examples matter.

Decide deliberately between industry and practice. Industry gives focused, steep learning inside one business; practice gives variety and client ownership. Either path works — the first company or first mentor matters more than the title.

Make yourself indispensable: spend time on the shop floor, master Excel/Power BI, learn your employer’s ERP tables, and write clearly. These skills—not the letters—earn promotions.

If you’re a newly qualified CMA in Nashik or anywhere in Maharashtra and want to discuss industry vs practice, I’m happy to talk — no agenda. Read the full guide and practical checklists: https://wix.to/jgnsgy8

The June 2026 results are out. Clearing the exam is one thing — knowing what to do in the eighteen months that follow is another. A practising Cost Accountant's guide to membership, the COP decision, choosing between industry and practice, and the skills that actually compound.
