The Direct Tax Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme, 2024 is here, effective from October 1, 2024. This scheme aims to settle pending tax disputes, providing relief to taxpayers with unresolved direct tax litigation.

Under the scheme, appellants with pending appeals or writ petitions related to direct taxes can resolve disputes by paying a portion of the disputed tax. The benefits vary depending on when the dispute is settled.
If you have disputes related to tax, interest, or penalty, the scheme offers favorable terms, especially for early settlements made before December 31, 2024. After that, additional percentages will apply

Exclusions apply, such as cases involving serious offences or undisclosed foreign income/assets. However, if you qualify, this could be your opportunity to clear up past tax issues and move forward.
