Is ₹1 lakh compulsory to buy a corporate bond? Not always.

Certain privately placed listed debt securities may have a face value of ₹10,000, subject to prescribed conditions. But the actual investment depends on the issue price, trading lot, quantity and availability.

Lower ticket size does not mean lower risk. Check the issue details before investing.

12% bond > 8% bond? Not automatically.

Problem: We see yield, not the reason behind it.

Yield is influenced by credit risk, tenure, liquidity, market rates & demand. Lower-rated issuer may need to offer higher yield — but risk can also be higher.

So don't compare just %. Compare rating, maturity, liquidity & issuer finances.

Bonds in your parents' Demat? Is nominee added?

Bank FD and Demat nominations are different. One doesn't auto-update the other.

Nomination can make transmission easier, but it's not a replacement for succession planning.

Check name, % and contact via your DP.
