The active vs passive investing debate has been around for years—and it's still one of the most hotly discussed topics in the world of mutual funds.

Interestingly, 2020 marked a turning point, with investor interest in passive funds rising sharply.
Many investors have shown preference for simpler investment options over complex products, As a result, many AMCS have been rolling out several passive schemes.
So, does that mean passive funds are better than active ones?
Who are passive funds really suited for?
How have they performed vis-a-vis active funds over the years?
How do both strategies behave during times of market volatility?
And most importantly, what passive fund options are available for investors today?
Looking ahead, how should investors approach the active vs passive allocation in their long-term portfolio strategy?

To find answers to these questions, catch me on this episode of Money Guru, hosted by Swati Raina on Zee Business, where I join co-panelist Vikas Puri to decode the active vs passive mutual fund debate and help you make informed investment decisions.

Building wealth is not about timing the market, but about time in the market.

When it comes to wealth creation, the 3S formula (STP, SIP, and SWP) is one of the most talked-about strategies. These are powerful tools, but simply having access to them isn’t enough — timing is everything. Understanding when and how to use each tool can truly make all the difference.

In this episode of Money Guru, hosted by Swati Raina on Zee Business, Prathiba Girish and her co-panelist Mohit Gang dive into the nuances of SIP, STP, and SWP. They share why SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) is often considered the best tool for wealth creation, and how its power of compounding helps investments grows over time in different market cycles.

Additionally, they discuss how STP (Systematic Transfer Plan) can help you manage market volatility when investing a lump sum by spreading the investment over time, reducing the risk of entering the market at an unfavourable moment. They also delve into tax implications and key factors to keep in mind for the same.

They also explore the ideal type of funds for SWP (Systematic Withdrawal Plan) and how to use this tool effectively to achieve your financial goals.

But what if we tell you that ELSS (Equity-Linked Savings Schemes) still offers strong reasons to stay invested. As one of the most popular options for claiming tax benefits under Section 80C, ELSS continues to hold its ground, even in the face of these changes.

So, why should you not close the chapter on ELSS just yet?

To find out, watch this episode of Money 9 hosted by Priyanka Sambhav, where Prathiba Girish discusses why ELSS remains a smart investment choice despite the changing tax landscape.

It's heartening as well as gratifying to see how personal finance awareness among people is taking off! More and more people are taking control of their financial future, especially when it comes to planning for important goals like retirement. Instead of just chasing quick returns, they’re asking the right questions and focusing on long-term investment strategies that align with their goals.

As always, it was a pleasure addressing some interesting investor questions on Your Money hosted by Deepali Rana on CNBC Awaaz, where I have discussed queries on selecting the right schemes, whether to buy mutual funds through MF apps or AMC websites, and whether SIP or lump sum investments are the better route to achieving financial goals.

6. What does it mean to be an aggressive investor?
7. How can single women effectively manage their finances, savings, investments, and debts?

Inculcating Financial Wisdom in our children.

Remember the thrill of dropping coins into a piggy bank as a child? That simple act was often our first lesson in saving. Fast forward to today, as parents, when we started giving our kids pocket money and slowly graduated them towards weekly or monthly allowances, we unknowingly planted the seeds of financial literacy. But for today’s younger generations (Gen Z, Gen Alpha) where the relative affluence and hence sense of entitlement is higher than it used to be during our generation, the conversations need to go deeper., to cover the importance of discipline and patience as well as the the ability to distinguish and prioritize between needs and wants.

In this episode of Money Guru hosted by Swati Raina, my co-panelist Poonam Rungta and I discuss how parents can instil the importance of financial planning and the concept of delayed gratification from a young age. We explore practical ways to lead by example when it comes to savings and investments.

Additionally, we address questions from young viewers, offering tips on how they can begin saving money early on.
Join us as we dive into how to raise financially-savvy kids in today’s world.
