Loads of appreciations to the team SaMaPa for organizing such a wonderful event in Bandipora. True that its the culture that defines people and the people that define culture. For years we as kashmiries have been suffering the irrelevant taboos that do not need any explanation here. What Kashmiries and Kashmariyat stood for throughout the process of its evolution as a civilization was blurred by the unfortunate waves of propaganda and misunderstandings. Now its time for all of us to rise again and show the world our true colors that are defined by love, life and brotherhood.
As said by Gandhi Ji..The only way to connect the hearts and souls of people is connecting them by their culture. Its time to put this thought to practice.

Kashmir’s geographical location partly explains is cultural history. It may be that its
natural beauty and temperate climate are the reasons that Kashmiris have a strong
tradition in the arts, literature, painting, drama, and dance. However, over the past few decades, Kashmir seems to have forgotten its rich cultural heritage and the reasons behind this disaster hardly need a reminder here. Book titled 'The traditional music of Kashmir' by Dr. Ramesh Kumar mentions Kashmir, Mathura and Benaras as the prominent centres for learning art and music of the bygone times. I wonder how great and sincere it would be on our part ( as an aware generation of Kashmir), to make some efforts to restore as many bits of our rich cultural legacy as we could.
With the same intention, KF feels proud to take a small initiative of crowdsourcing as many of our old cultural testimonials as possible and hence requests people extend their support by sharing whatever info they have regarding the roots of their own culture. All the information KF receives would be cross-checked for its credibility before its shared here.

Thankyou everyone for your likes.
Though KF created its fb page recently, KF has been serving its purpose since Feb. 2014. Apart from partnering various cultural exchange events like Jhankaar, BollywoodNights, Jaloosh etc organised by various social organisations in Mumbai, KF has also played an important role in the relief and rehabilitation processes conducted by JKRF in the flood hit villages of Bandipora in Kashmir after the unfortunate event of 2014 floods. Conducting these relief and medical camps in Bandipora wouldn't have been possible without the support of JKRF, KF thanks the entire team of JKRF and everyone who palyed his bit by volunteering the campaign.
Standing committed to its aims and objects, KF looks forward for your continuous support and encouragement. Together we are the POWER.

Poet Rumi described Kashmir as the true heaven on earth. Sadly, the Kashmir of today is nothing less than a battleground of cultures, religion and geopolitics. But these almost 100-year-old photos transport us back to the time when Kashmir was a true heaven for its people and a jewel of an undivided India. The sepia-toned photos of Kashmir carry more colour than Kashmir of our times can boast of. (Manas Sen Gupta, TopYaps)
