There is nothing wrong in 2-3 names which have an INDEGENOUS origin ,but there is always something wrong in accepting the name "given" by outsiders who have no right to do so.Can any one dare to name England as "Thamesia",just because it is loc

ated in the valley of the river Thames?Then they should not dare to do so with Bharat or any other country. changing names doesn't change history. It will still remain a fact that our country was once under foreign rule. Ans:-
By changing names ,we are not aiming at changing the history,but making a new one by regaining the lost cultural identity of our country,of which the name is the very first representation in the outer world! Q.3."why a big nation like America has not changed the names given by British rulers,after they achieved independence?"

Ans:-
the majority of the population in America is not indigenous to the land & their history starts onl from few 100 yrs,with the discovery of America.So,you can't expect them to have any respect for the indeginous names!On the contrary,our country has a heritage that dates back to many thousands of yrs,before the western people visited Bharat. Q.4.Isn't the name "India" a very meaning ful one as it indicates the country located in the valley of river Indus? Ans:-
Even the name Indus is a changed one & Sindhu is the original name. Still it remains a meaningless one.To be Etymologically correct,the word India should include not only Bharat,but Pakistan,southeastern Afghanistan and the easternmost part of Balochistan, Iran.as all of them come under Indus valley civilization! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indus_Valley_Civilization

Bha = Tej-glory
Rat = to be one with it(glory)

Yes,ofcourse,we should put our energy to build up our nation,but only strong minds filled with respect for our nation can build & protect the nation ! Self-respect for indigenous things like the name BHARAT makes that qualitative change in the life of every common man which is intangible but powerful enough to keep the nation alive & free of mental slavery! Q.8.If the constitution has accepted both Bharat & India,& since the constitution is a sacred one,is it not our duty to use both? Ans:-
Though our constitution is a sacred one,it is always open for ammendmends,if done in a legal way.That is what we are trying to do with the help of an online petition. Though Bharat is constitutionally well accepted,can we use this on any web site based on foreign language? That is what we want to achieve through this campaign,that we should be able to use the name Bharat,internationally! It is more logical to continue with the name which is used in our national anthem ,,rather than using any other name having a foreign origin.
