FD vs MF
Both instruments are there - to safeguard your money and to grow your money. Both options are good and both have their own value for example FD has a fixed lock in period and satisfactory percentage of return which keeps your money 100% safe with some low percentage returns but it not give you good enough return compared to MF in a good market situation.
On the other hand Mutual Fund has an upside as well as downside of growth cycle, it has unlimited commitment in terms of growth and also doesn't have a lock in period.
You can make investment any time and also can redeem your money any time.
Also mutual funds give you best return in a good market situation as compared to FD.
FD is good to keep for some amount for assured return for a middle class family but they also have to go for the mutual funds, because it has infinite opportunity for growth in savings and flexibility to take the money from the market.
In both ways we are keeping our money in the market but FD is secured way to keep it with limited returns and Mutual Fund is low risk compared to share market and best returns in low risk. Also we have many schemes in Mutual Funds for short term investment - actually this kind of Mutual Fund scheme is suitable for the category of family who prefer to keep their money in FD instead of Mutual Funds
