Investing isn’t a prediction game.

Will the market fall?
When will it go up?
What’s the next multibagger?
Should I buy or sell?

We all think about these questions.

But the bigger question is: Are you giving your investments enough time to grow?

Markets will have ups and downs.
Wealth is built by staying patient through them.

- Clear goals
- Long-term thinking
- Consistency
- Discipline
- Letting compounding do its work

Because real wealth isn’t built by chasing every market move.

It’s built by staying invested when everyone else is busy predicting the next one.

What’s harder for you — staying invested or staying patient?

Is your surplus money just sitting in your savings account?

We often keep extra money in our savings account simply because we may need it soon.

But there are investment options designed specifically for managing short-term surplus — Liquid Funds.

Liquid Funds invest in short-term debt and money market instruments with maturities of up to 91 days. They offer liquidity, no lock-in and relatively lower volatility.

According to the snapshot in our carousel, the Liquid Funds category recorded an average 1-year return of 6.22%.

Mutual funds have always offered flexibility. But what if investors wanted a little more?

That’s where SIF — Specialized Investment Fund enters the picture.

SIF sits between traditional mutual funds and PMS/AIF, offering experienced investors access to more specialized strategies and greater flexibility.

And the early numbers are worth watching

In just the first 6 months: • AUM crossed ₹10,000 Cr+

• Investor folios reached 44,000+
• Investment strategies expanded from 4 to 14

One of the interesting features is the ability to use long + short strategies, with short positions permitted up to 25% of the portfolio — giving fund managers another tool to respond to market opportunities and downside conditions.

But SIF isn’t simply “the next mutual fund.”
With a ₹10 lakh minimum investment, it is designed for experienced investors, and every SIF can carry a different level of risk depending on its assets and strategy.

The bigger question is:

Will SIF become an important middle ground between mutual funds and PMS/AIF?

This is a space worth keeping on the radar.

Weekly Market Update | Week Ending 7 August 2026
Indian markets remained resilient through a week of mixed global cues and stock-specific action. Nifty 50 gained 1.86%, while Sensex rose 0.64% over the week.

The RBI kept the repo rate unchanged, helping maintain confidence in the economic outlook. Meanwhile, Q1 earnings continued to drive stock-specific moves, with strong results from SBI supporting sentiment.

On the sector front, Electricals, Ship Building, Aviation and Metals & Mining were among the top performers, while Insurance, Media & Entertainment, Industrial Gases, Power and Real Estate lagged.

Hindalco, Grasim, SBI and Shriram Finance were among the week’s notable gainers. Higher crude oil prices and the rollout of the Closing Auction Session (CAS) also kept market volatility elevated.
