What is PMFME?
PMFME stands for Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises.
It’s a Government of India scheme launched to help small and micro food businesses grow and become more professional.
Main goals of the scheme
Help small food processing units (like home-based or village businesses)
Encourage them to register, upgrade, and formalize
Improve quality, branding, and marketing
Create jobs in rural and semi-urban areas
Who can benefit?
Small food processing entrepreneurs
Self Help Groups (SHGs)
Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)
Cooperatives
Street food and local food product makers
