Minakshi Kandel, opened CSC center 2 years ago however, her family financial condition was not very favorable but still her perseverance and positive attitude helped her emerge as a successful Village level entrepreneur. Minakshi Kandel pursued her graduation along with running emitra centre in Govindgarh Block of Jaipur District. Through the varied services available on emitra portal she has been able to earn an average income of about 10,000 to 12,000 per month. Major services being application form filling and fee collection, digital certificates for copy of land records, bonafide, ration card, Bhamashah, recharge for various pre-paid services etc.

Under the NABARD project for financial literacy programme, she has been able to enroll more than 1000 women beneficiaries. In this scheme, she created awareness about the account opening, the importance of saving account and explained about various governments sponsored schemes among rural youth, especially women on Financial Literacy programme in rural areas. Beside these activities, she also trained 1450 students those who were not digitally literate and provided computer literacy training to them under National digital literacy programme.

In addition to FLP & NDLM Session, She organized the workshop to create awareness under the programme which help to successfully NABARD FLP & NDLM Programme. VLEs working as Business Correspondents/Bank Mitra have earned a commission of Rs. 2.5 crores in commission in the month of March 2015. Most of the transactions done through these Banking Correspondents pertain to banking services like account opening, cash withdrawal, cash deposit, money transfer etc.

Currently there are more than 22,000 CSCs working as Banking correspondents or Bank Mitras. These are working for various nationalized Banks like SBI, PNB, BOB, among others.

Maximum commission in the month of March 2015 paid was by PNB amounting to Rs. 1.5 crores.

VLEs CAN FACILITATE FILING OF INCOME TAX RETURN THROUGH CSCs
With the launch of the ITR service, the VLEs will not only be able to file their own tax returns but can also facilitate the service for citizens through Apna portal.
CSC SPV has come up with beneficial service of income tax return filing. VLEs can now file the tax return for citizens in the farfetched rural areas. The service will be made available through Apna Portal to all VLEs from 13th May, 2015 onwards. The VLEs will be able to charge Rs 300 for providing the service to the customer.
Some of the facilities available to the VLE for providing services are:
Support – dedicated Tax Genius helpline
Online ledger feature
Real time status of the return can be viewed
The VLEs should utilise this service and start filing income tax return for themselves and the citizens as well.

VLE Baban Murkute, who has successfully been running a CSC since the last four years, has recently set up a Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (DISHA) training centre for Anganwadi and ASHA workers and authorised ration dealers in Adyal village in Bhandara district under Nagpur Division, Maharashtra.

And helping him in his endeavour is his daughter Ashwini, who has just completed a polytechnic course. The 21-year-old Ashwini has been enthusiastically supporting her father in digitally empowering the community in their village. Ashwini has been meeting the local ICDS officials for mobilizing the Anganwadi workers for registrations.

She also goes around the village trying to spread information about the DISHA scheme among the ASHA workers and ration dealers. With her sincere efforts, the centre now has around 80 Anganwadi and ASHA workers and authorised ration dealers, who are getting Level 1 DISHA curriculum training.

The centre was inaugurated by Adyal village sarpanch Mrs. Sheela Bahurao Choudhary on April 1, 2015. Addressing the gathering of Anganwadi and ASHA workers and authorised ration dealers, she said, the DISHA training will equip the grassroots government functionaries in utilizing IT skills in discharging their duties. She exhorted all the grassroots workers to diligently attend the training being provided free of cost by the Government.

Following the recent success of telemedicine service through CSC in India, all CSCs using APNA PORTAL have been made active with Apollo Telemedicine Service. CSCs in West Bengal had the maximum number of transactions and highest number of review consults, followed by Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

The number of transactions have been on a growing spree, especially from October 2014, with more and more VLEs undergoing training and activation of Apollo Tele-health service. A growing trend in the number of visits and revisits by customer was also seen, with 14% of customers returning back for a second consult.

To meet with this demand CSCs using APNA PORTAL have been activated with Apollo Telemedicine Service. VLEs throughout India can now access Apollo Telemedicine service throughout India using the APNA CSC portal. They can access the voice based study material files from the website www.health.csc.gov.in, under the “TRAININGS” section. They can also know about all the health services by clicking on SERVICES section.

The training of the master trainers under NABARD Financial Literacy project commenced on the March 11, 2015 in the State of Himachal Pradesh. The workshop was attended by a total of 117 participants at two locations.

The training of the master trainers under NABARD Financial Literacy Project commenced on the March 11, 2015 in the State of Himachal Pradesh. The workshop imparted training on selection of beneficiaries, community mobilization, beneficiary registration, conduction of the training, and collection of feedback.

The workshop was attended by a total of 117 participants at two locations namely Shimla and Mandi. The training in Shimla was held at Cooperative Bank, ACSTI, Sangti, Summer Hill for 60 Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) working as Bussiness Corrspondents (BCs) and in the field of Insurance and Pension. The participants came from three districts of (Sirmaur, Shimla and Solan).

The training in Mandi consisted of 57 VLEs from the districts of Bilaspur, Hamirpur and was held in the premises Mandi Saksharta Evum Jan Vikas Samiti (MSJVS).

Apart from discussing the course modules of the training, Financial Literacy kits were distributed to the participants of the workshop.

VLE Mangilal Keer from Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan does transactions amounting to Rs 1.5 crores in a span of four months.

CMS Computers VLE Sh. Mangilal Keer’s CSC works as a Business Correspondent for Bank of Baroda in Chittorgarh, Block BARI SADRI, Village PUNAWALI has done transactions of Rs 1.5 Crores between July and September, 2014. The BC is catering to about 1400 customers from his and surrounding villages. Transactions are mainly - deposits as well as withdrawal funds along with online fund transfer. The customers include beneficiaries such as students receiving scholarships, MGNREGA payments, pensioners etc.

This BC is not only a role model for other kiosk owners who are actively providing banking services but also tells a great tale about the success of banking service through CSC in rural India.
