Banggai Island in Sulawesi is one of Indonesia’s most underrated places to travel.
How to reach ❓
You will have to take a flight from Jakarta to Luwuk and then take a ferry to Banggai Island.
What to see❓
1. Paisu Pok Lake - It’s a beautiful lake which has some of the bluest water you can ever see.
2. Poganda Beach - It is a peaceful white sand beach just 30 minutes from Paisu Pok lake
3. Gua Susendeng - It is a shallow limestone cave with a high ceiling and blue pool at the bottom at 15 minutes downhill walk from the car parking
4. Mandel Beach - It is a white sand beach and is one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Sulawesi
5. Tanjung Gundul - It is an interesting little cove and beach that’s only accessible by boat. One of the unique beaches in Indonesia, it consists of white pebbles and a rock arch that’s been carved out of limestone by wind and waves
6. Paisu Batongan - It is a lake where you can swim with stingless jellyfish. It is a remote and serene place
7. Bukit Popisi - It is a viewpoint on Popisi Hills from where you can get a view of the islands
There are numerous other beaches to visit and the best part is the raw untouched nature.
