Our sincere gratitude to the Indian Museum, Kolkata for hosting an exquisitely curated exhibition of painted umbrellas—each one delicately brought to life by young artists during the 34th Apeejay Anand Art Mela.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sayan Bhattacharya, Director of the Indian Museum and Secretary & Curator of the Victoria Memorial, and Mr. Darry Bloud, CEO, Apeejay Schools.
Envisioned by the Apeejay Anand Children’s Library under the aegis of Apeejay Schools, this year’s theme, *“The Water We Want – Every Drop Counts,”* unfolded through a sophisticated harmony of colour, form, and imagination. Each umbrella, with its fluid interpretations of rivers, oceans, and skies, offered a quiet yet compelling reflection on our relationship with the natural world.
Across three sunlit days, the museum lawns transformed into a vibrant tapestry of voices and visions—where young learners, educators, organisations, and special children came together in a shared celebration of creativity. The space gently echoed with curiosity, conversations, and moments of joy, making the experience as meaningful as it was beautiful.
We extend our deepest thanks to Dr. Sayan Bhattacharya, Director of the Indian Museum, and his dedicated team for their invaluable support in bringing this vision to life.
