Sensex down 114 points on weak Asian cues

Indian markets opened on a negative note on Wednesday. The BSE Sensex opened the day at 16,899.01, while the NSE Nifty opened at 5,115.80.

Bajaj Finserv plans Rs 1,000-cr rights issue.


Bajaj Finserv plans to raise up to Rs 1,000 crore through a rights issue.
The company has filed a draft offer document with SEBI.
Bajaj Finserv plans to deploy Rs 750 crore towards augmenting its capital base for the purpose of capital adequacy.
The remaining fund would be deployed for general corporate purposes after incurring issue expenditure. Bajaj Finserv is a non-banking financial company present in diverse businesses such as life insurance, general insurance and financial advisory.

United Phosphorus acquires Dutch company Agrichem

United Phosphorus’ overseas subsidiary has entered into an agreement with SD Agrichem Europe, a subsidiary of Punjab Chemicals and Crop Protection Ltd (Punjab Chemicals), to acquire 100 per cent in the Dutch company Agrichem, for an undisclosed amount. The deal involves all tangible and intangible assets, IPR, product registrations, brands, the distribution network and manufacturing facilities.
