The day of Eid-ul-Adha falls on the tenth day in the final (twelfth) month of the Islamic Lunar Calendar; Dhu-al-Hijjah. The day that celebrations fall on is dependent on a legitimate sighting of the moon, following the completion of the annual Holy Pilgrimage of Hajj - which is an obligation for all Muslim’s who fit specific criteria, one of the important Five Pillars of Islam.

The celebration of Eid-ul-Adha is to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to Allah SWT and his readiness to sacrifice his son, Ismail. At the very point of sacrifice, Allah SWT replaced Ismail with a ram, which was to be slaughtered in place of his son. This command from Allah SWT was a test of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness and commitment to obey his Lord’s command, without question. Therefore, Eid-ul-Adha means the festival of sacrifice.

International Nurses Day has been created so that we can pay honor and tribute to all of the nurses around the world and the incredible work they do. It is crazy to think about a world without nurses. Who would be there to care for us when we’re not feeling well? Nurses bring so much to our lives, and the lives of the people that we love, and so it is only right that we have a day that honors them and recognizes all of their efforts!

This May 6, put away your scales and form a new relationship with the person in the mirror for International No Diet Day. For so many people, and especially women, unattainable body standards and pressure have prompted eating disorders, low self-esteem, bullying, and unhealthily restrictive diets. When British feminist Mary Evans Young had enough of all this in 1992, she invited friends to “Ditch that Diet” – and it caught on massively. The global movement that it sparked has helped many individuals form a healthier relationship with food and their bodies, so today wear a light blue ribbon and eat a cheeseburger with pride!

Every year on April 17, World Hemophilia Day is celebrated, to spread awareness about this blood disorder as well as to commemorate the birthday of Frank Schnabel, the founder of the World Federation Of Hemophilia.

What Is Hemophilia?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, hemophilia is an inherited bleeding condition in which the blood does not clot properly. This can lead to the patient bleeding without a warning, all of a sudden, or uncontrolled bleeding if an injury occurs.

Blood contains proteins known as clotting factors that help to stall bleeding. People with hemophilia have a paucity of factor VIII (8) or factor IX (9).

According to a Financial Express report, more than 1.36 lakh people, or one out of every 10,000 people are born with hemophilia.

Why Hemophilia Can Become Life Threatening
Unchecked hemophilia can result in the following health complications:

Bleeding within joints can lead to the weakening of joints.
Bleeding in the head and, at times, in the brain can lead to problems such as seizures and paralysis.
Excessive blood loss can lead to death

World Homeopathy Day is celebrated on April 10 every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of German physician Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy. This day is marked to celebrate and honour homeopathy and its contributions in treating the patients across the globe.
Dr Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy was born in Paris on April 10, 1755. While practising, he found that in order to treat a patient's sickness, the ingredients that cause the disease's symptoms must be administered.

He developed the principle of 'similia similibus curentur', meaning 'let like cure like', in the late 18th century. Thus, homeopathy works on the principle of "like cures like".

This year will be the 268th birth anniversary of Dr Hahnemann.

The day aims to create awareness about the effectiveness of homoeopathy in treating various health conditions. It has been used for centuries to treat diseases like allergies, asthma, depression or anxiety. Homoeopathy medicines are made from natural ingredients like minerals, plants, and animals.
