DIFFERENCE between "Multicap" and "Flexicap" FUNDS :
A Fund Manager of any Multicap Fund has to invest a minimum of 25% in each of the following equity segments : Large Cap , Mid Cap and Small Cap . The balance 25% can be invested in any of the above sectors , as per the Market conditions .
However in case of Flexi Cap Funds , the mandate for the Fund Manager is to invest minimum 65% of the Funds / Assets in Equity and the said investment in Equity can be done in either Large Cap or Midcap or Small Cap Funds , without any limits , as per the market conditions .
Hence as the name rightly suggests , the Fund Manager of a Flexi Cap Fund clearly has more flexibility in choosing the investment avenues , as per the Ups and Downs in the Market .
