India’s solar story is entering its next phase.

Phase 1 was about building solar capacity.
Phase 2 is about storing that power.

India already has around 164.6 GW of installed solar capacity, but solar generation is strongest during the day while electricity demand continues well after sunset.

That is why Battery Energy Storage Systems are becoming increasingly important.

By 2031-32, India is projected to require:

47.24 GW / 236 GWh of BESS capacity
with an estimated investment of around ₹3.49 lakh crore.

The larger investing lesson:

When one industry scales, the next opportunity often comes from solving the bottleneck it creates.

Solar created abundant renewable power.

Now storage has to make that power available when the grid actually needs it.

NIFTY 50 closed at 24,383.60, up +66.45 points (+0.27%) on 31 July 2026.

A quiet green close on the index — but the day's real story was breadth: more stocks rose than fell, and both FIIs and DIIs ended as net buyers.

Today's picture:
• Gap-up open at 24,361.45 (+44 pts above the 24,317.15 previous close).
• Dipped to a day low of 24,299.70, then recovered and held gains.
• Day high 24,429.40.
• Breadth positive: 28 advances vs 21 declines (1 unchanged) — ~56% of NIFTY stocks closed higher.

Institutional cash-market activity (NSE + BSE + MSEI):
• FII/FPI: net BUYERS of about ₹277 crore.
• DII: net BUYERS of about ₹2,260 crore.

For beginners:
The index rose just +0.27%, yet more than half its stocks closed green. "The market" and "most stocks" aren't the same — a heavyweight or two can make the headline look flat while the broader list does better. Learn to read breadth (advances vs declines), not only the index level.

Both FIIs and DIIs bought today, but one green day of institutional buying is not a "signal" — a single day's FII/DII figure is provisional data, not a direction call. Track it as context over weeks, never as a trade trigger.

NIFTY 50 closed at 24,250.20, up +264.85 (+1.10%) — a broad-based up day.

Today's picture:

Gap-up open at 24,176.65 (+191.30 pts); day low 24,136.75, day high 24,283.55.
Breadth strong: 38 stocks up vs 12 down (~76% higher).

Institutional cash-market activity (NSE + BSE + MSEI):

FII/FPI: NET BUYERS +Rs 2,981.87 Cr
DII: NET BUYERS +Rs 998.02 Cr

Beginner takeaway: when the index rises, "breadth" tells you if most stocks rose or just a few heavyweights. Today 38 of 50 were up — broad strength, which is generally healthier. Also, FIIs and DIIs were both net buyers today. But one day of FII/DII data is provisional and NOT a direction signal — read it as a daily fact, not a forecast.

NIFTY 50 closed at 23,985.35, down just 10.60 points (-0.04%) — a virtually flat finish.

But the flat number hides the real story: breadth was clearly positive and both FII and DII ended the day as net buyers.

Today's snapshot:

Open 23,971.25 (gap-down ~24.70 pts) | High 24,041.15 | Low 23,954.60 — dipped early, recovered, held a tight range.
Advances 30 vs Declines 20 — 60% of the Nifty 50 closed higher even though the index finished flat.

Institutional cash-market activity (NSE + BSE + MSEI):

FII/FPI: net BUYING of Rs +755.33 crore.
DII: net BUYING of Rs +1,664.16 crore.

Beginner takeaway: A flat index does not mean a flat market. The Nifty barely moved, yet 30 of its 50 stocks rose — index level and breadth are two different lenses. Also, one day of FII/DII data is provisional; treat it as information, never a forecast.

NIFTY 50 closed at 23,995.95 today, up +228.50 (+0.96%) — just below 24,000.

The interesting bit: FIIs were net sellers, but the index still rose on strong breadth and heavy DII buying.

Quick snapshot:

Gap-up open at 23,928.40 (+160.95 pts)
Day range: 23,891.55 – 24,011.60
Breadth: 43 up vs 7 down (~86% higher)
FII/FPI net: –₹1,688 cr (selling) | DII net: +₹2,329 cr (buying)

Beginner takeaway: "Breadth" — how many stocks rise vs fall — often says more than the index number. Today's gain was broad-based, not just a few heavyweights. And remember, one day's FII/DII figure is provisional — a single data point, not a trend or a signal to act on.

NIFTY 50 closed at 23,767.45 today, down 102.15 points (-0.43%).

FIIs sold, DIIs bought — and the index still recovered ~160 points off its intraday low.

Snapshot:

Gap-down open at 23,666.35 (-0.85%)
Day range: 23,606.30 to 23,823.60
Breadth weak: 14 up vs 36 down (only 28% higher)

Institutional cash-market (NSE+BSE+MSEI):

FII/FPI: net SOLD Rs 3,892.77 cr
DII: net BOUGHT Rs 5,453.55 cr

Beginner takeaway: NIFTY fell just 0.43%, but 72% of its stocks closed lower — breadth often tells you more than the index number. And one day's FII/DII figure is provisional, not a trend signal.

NIFTY 50 closed at 23,869.60, down 126.65 points (-0.53%) on 23 July 2026.

FII/FPI sold, DII bought — yet the index still slipped, with more stocks falling than rising.

Today's snapshot:

Open 23,904.80 (gap-down ~91 pts) | Prev close 23,996.25
Day range: 23,807.20 – 23,990.75
Breadth: 20 advances vs 30 declines (only 40% closed higher)

Institutional activity (NSE + BSE + MSEI):

FII/FPI: net SELLING Rs 2,999.23 cr
DII: net BUYING Rs 2,947.14 cr

Beginner takeaway: A small index fall can still hide weak breadth — check how many stocks rose vs fell, not just the headline number. And one day of FII/DII data is provisional, not a buy/sell signal on its own.

NIFTY 50 closed at 23,996.25, down 191.45 points (-0.79%). Today's market was one-sided, with both foreign and domestic institutions selling. 📉 Only 10 of 50 NIFTY stocks advanced, while 40 declined. FIIs and DIIs were net sellers. 📊 Remember, a single day's market breadth and institutional flows don't indicate a trend.

NIFTY 50 closed at 24,187.70 today, down 50.80 points (-0.21%).

But here is the interesting part: the index closed red, while market breadth stayed green.

Today's full picture:
- Gap-down open - opened at 24,216.05 against the previous close of 24,238.50
- Day low 24,135.65, and the index recovered from there
- Day high 24,262.20
- Advances 33 vs Declines 17 - meaning 66% of NIFTY 50 stocks closed higher

Institutional cash-market activity (NSE + BSE + MSEI):
- FII/FPI: Net +Rs 1,650.16 CR (buying)
- DII: Net -Rs 656.88 CR (selling)

What beginners can learn from today:

The index number and market breadth do not always tell the same story. The index was down 0.21%, yet 33 out of 50 stocks closed higher. This happens when a few heavyweight stocks fall and the rest of the index cannot pull it back up. So saying "the market fell today" by looking only at the index is an incomplete reading - always check breadth as well.

One more point: a single day of FII/DII data is not a direction signal. It is one day of cash-market activity and it is provisional. Trends are read over weeks, not over one session.

📊 NIFTY 50 DAILY MARKET WRAP | 20 JUL 2026

Nifty 50 closed at 24,238.50, down 95.80 points or 0.39%.

The index ended lower, but the underlying market breadth remained positive:

✅ Advances: 36
🔻 Declines: 14
➖ Unchanged: 0

Institutional cash-market activity:

🔴 FII/FPI Net: −₹1,121.04 crore
🟢 DII Net: +₹1,312.03 crore

Key takeaway: The market witnessed a weak opening followed by recovery from the intraday low. Positive market breadth and DII buying helped offset FII/FPI selling.
