THIS PERSONALITY TOOL ASSESSES LEARNING AGILITY, YOURS DOES NOT!

Learning agility is NOT a personality construct. It can be INFERRED through cognitive assessment & some personality dimensions. The word is a mix of two constructs – learning & agility. It CANNOT be assessed as a single construct of personality.

Learning is the extent to which a person picks “learnings” from one
experience. Agility is about how quickly one can apply it across
situations.
A) LEARNING comes from
(1)Reflections on experiences to spot what did/did not work (2)Working with feedback
(3)Trying multiple options in a new situation to see what works.

B) AGILITY is how quickly the person can decode the situation &
decode patterns. The construct is linked to the APTITUDE of
numerical, verbal & abstract reasoning.

The only question personality answers are – “When faced with a new situation, will the person focus on learning?”. People who are low on factors like OPENNESS TO EXPERIENCE & RESILIENCE do not “stick it out”, experience anxiety & fail to recognize that the situation they are in, is new. This impacts learning agility negatively. HIGH ACHIEVEMENT ORIENTATION is detrimental to learning agility. HIGH ACH. ORI. people are too focused on the goal to have the patience to reflect & learn.

Here is another common mistake organizations make -

"BINGO! I CAN USE COGNITIVE ASSESSMENT AND FILTER OUT OVER 60% OF MY HIGH PERFORMERS TO CREATE A LEAN AND MEAN HIGH POTENTIAL IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM"

Cognitive capability is a very predictive indicator of potential. There is no question about that.

However, it should NOT be used in isolation, especially at mid-levels (mid-levels are usually your largest hunting ground for high potentials)

Several people use other intense strengths – like strengths of “relationships” – to stay ahead of the curve, deliver excellence, create value.
When you use cognitive assessment as THE ONLY FILTER in the early stages of sieving high performers, you risk removing a large section of people who actually have other more important enablers of high potential
Always.. always... team the cognitive assessment with another holistic measure of high potential behaviors in your first filter.

The pandemic has unleashed its biggest threat – that of social isolation, paranoia, depression from loneliness, and the psychosis of fear.
We need caution, vigilance, trust & social responsibility to tide over the corona crisis. There is a thin line between vigilance and paranoia. The media (especially the social media) feeds into the fear by highlighting the UNUSUAL news.
Did you know that for every 10% of crime, there is 90% of good news? For every 25% of scary news of spread/deaths and sickness, there is 75% news of recovery / good health and positive disease management?

The news reports the un-usual because the un-usual sells. The human mind likes the thrill of adventure, gossip, and drama.

In the locked-down, distanced world of today, the same “unusual” that gave us thrill is giving us “unreal fear” or “paranoia”

We don’t realize the aftermath of the unreal fear. We don’t realize that the fear of contact will not end naturally when corona ends (if it ends). It will have a lasting effect on us (especially children, because they have under formed judgments).
