China’s major oil refiners have suspended exports of refined fuel products to all regions beyond Hong Kong and Macau until further notice. The sudden halt, which leaked via trade sources on October 1, 2026, immediately drove Brent crude prices back above $100 per barrel.
The suspension comes as Beijing moves to protect its domestic energy security and rebuild heavily depleted fuel stocks ahead of the week-long Golden Week holiday.
