At OfBusiness Group, we are committed to supporting initiatives that help people gain practical skills and create sustainable livelihood opportunities.

As part of our CSR efforts, we collaborated with Rotary Club of Mumbai Mulund East and Rotary Club of Mumbai Bhandup for a Sewing Machine Operator training program.

Earlier this year, the program concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony for the successful participants. Along with their certificates, each beneficiary received a sewing kit to support them as they begin using the skills gained through the program.

We are glad to support initiatives that give people practical skills and the resources to put those skills to use.

𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟭𝟬 𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗘 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The International Council for Small Business (ICSB) has identified 10 trends expected to shape MSMEs in 2026.

The trends include the rise of solo entrepreneurs, women led businesses, local entrepreneurship, AI, digital commerce, global markets and the next generation of MSMEs.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗘 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗘𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁:

𝗖𝗣𝗦𝗘 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗧𝗥𝗲𝗗𝗦: Central Public Sector Enterprises will have to route the settlement of invoices for goods and services procured from MSMEs through TReDS. States can also introduce similar provisions for their Public Sector Enterprises.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: The amendments introduce stricter timelines for the adjudication of delayed payment disputes involving Micro and Small Enterprises.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: Arbitral awards in favour of Micro and Small Enterprises can be recovered as arrears of land revenue. Courts can also order payment of at least 50% of the awarded amount if an appeal remains pending for more than six months.

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗘 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝘀: States can establish additional Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Councils to help improve the resolution of delayed payment disputes.

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀: Some offences will be decriminalised and replaced with graded penalties based on the nature of the violation. A warning will be provided for the first instance in applicable cases.

𝗨𝗱𝘆𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀: The Udyam Portal will have permanent status as a national digital platform for free and voluntary MSME registration.

𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗘 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: MSME classification will use a composite criterion based on turnover and investment in plant and machinery or equipment.

For MSMEs, the changes focus on areas that directly affect day-to-day business: getting paid, resolving payment disputes, accessing formal recognition and navigating compliance.

At OfBusiness Group, we believe more women should have the opportunity to build skills, earn independently, and create livelihoods of their own.

With this intent, we initiated a skill development program for women in collaboration with Hamari Pahchan.

Through the program, women received hands-on training in different crafts and learned skills that can help them create a source of income for themselves.

Handmade products created through the efforts of around 500 women were recently showcased at our Gurugram office. We came together to encourage their work by purchasing the products on display.

The initiative reflects our continued focus on creating opportunities that help more women move towards financial independence through practical skills and meaningful work.
