On 13th January 2019, a Non-profit social organization Anugyalaya Darjeeling conducted and awareness session at XYZ coaching Institute Gorubathan on Prevention from Child Sexual Abuse and Cyber Security among the students of the above said institute.
Child Sexual Abuse is a major problem in our society,we saw everyday numbers reporting cases of Child Sexual Abuse happening in our society and now days there no any safe place for our children. According to the NCRB data, a total of 1,06,958 cases of crimes against children were reported across the country in 2016. The large number of children in India are sexually abused by known persons like relatives, neighbours, at school, and in residential facilities for vulnerable children.
Team Anugyalaya gave safety tips to children, how do children keep safe themselves from Child Sexual Abuse?
The internet provides immense opportunities to its users, but at the same time, there are numerous corresponding risks. While our country progresses rapidly towards a Digital India, it is imperative to ensure that effective legal mechanisms for the safety and security of internet users are in place. A cybercrime is an offence carried out anonymously by any person under the garb of the internet. Technology allows perpetrators to act anonymously and provides them access to a large, vulnerable population including children. Teenagers around the world addicted to social media platforms such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat are easy targets for the perpetrators of cybercrime. While children are often oblivious to the dangers associated with the cyberspace, parents find it difficult to protect them from cybercrimes as they lack awareness of the legal remedies available under national and international law.
We also guide to children how can they use internet safely ways and what securities should be adopted when access the Facebook and whatsapp and means of social media.
The session was taken By Tej kumar Thapa (CPO) and Ms. Karuna Chettri (CPW) from Anugyalaya. There were 140 students and two teachers participated in the session
On behalf of Anugyalaya I would to thanks Mr. Nikesh Sunam Director of XYZ Institute and Sir Maheswar Pradhan for allow us to conduct the session.
