E-BOOK OR PHYSICAL BOOK?
I love Kindle because it holds so much without asking for space in the house. A page or a quote can be shared in an online meeting.
It was an excellent experience to hear the audio version of my book “Rock the Rupee – Where the Money Journey Begins.”
Yet, I felt compelled to return to physical books to reduce screen time and its negative impact on eyesight. And boy, am I hooked? The weight of a book in your hands, the feel of the paper, the sound of a page-turning—these sensory experiences create a profound connection between reader and text that screens can't reproduce. This physicality can enhance our engagement and immersion in the material, fostering a more profound reading experience.
Additionally, studies have shown that reading on paper can improve comprehension and retention compared to digital reading. The linearity of a physical book, without the distractions of hyperlinks and notifications, helps readers focus and absorb information more effectively. The act of physically marking pages and highlighting passages also aids memory and understanding, making physical books a superior choice for in-depth study and research.
Physical books are timeless treasures. They don't require batteries, software updates, or internet access. They can be shared, gifted, and even passed down through generations, carrying personal histories and memories within their pages.
