Hon’ble Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, chaired the Parliamentary Consultative Committee Meeting of the Ministry of Power, Government of India in Chandigarh. The meeting focused on the crucial subject of Grid Stability in the context of rising electricity demand, large-scale renewable energy integration, and the increasing share of inverter-based resources.
The Hon’ble Minister highlighted the importance of a reliable, flexible, and resilient grid to support India’s clean energy transition. Members deliberated on key measures to strengthen grid stability, including transmission augmentation, energy storage, renewable energy forecasting, and the deployment of technologies such as STATCOMs and synchronous condensers for voltage stability and system strength. The Committee appreciated the ongoing initiatives of the Ministry of Power and resolved to collectively work towards building a robust, secure, and future-ready power grid for the nation.
