Mission Zero: Advancing Safe & Dignified Sanitation through NAMASTE. 🇮🇳

A National Workshop in Bhubaneswar brought together stakeholders to strengthen , with NSKFDC driving mechanised sanitation, occupational safety and social security for sanitation workers.

The workshop was graced by Hon’ble CM Odisha Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Shri Sudhansh Pant, IAS, Shri Prabhat Kumar Singh, Smt. Anu Garg and Smt. Usha Padhee.

Almost a week has passed, but we’re still remembering the spirit of the day!

With the support of NSKFDC, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India brought together beneficiaries of NAMASTE, SEED and PM-JAY for a memorable Independence Day in New Delhi, filled with celebration, interaction and shared experiences.

From witnessing the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s address at the Red Fort to exploring the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya and coming together with officials and fellow beneficiaries at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre it was a celebration to remember.

As part of the celebrations, Ms Priyanka, a Safai Saathi and beneficiary under the Waste Pickers Component of the Scheme, shared how the initiative has contributed to greater financial stability and security in her life.

She spoke about the support received through the scheme, including PPE kits that promote safer working conditions, Occupational Safety Training, and an Ayushman Bharat Card, which provides eligible beneficiaries with health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh.

Her journey highlights how social security, occupational safety and livelihood support can strengthen the lives of Safai Saathis and advance the vision of dignity and empowerment for all.

On the evening of , Shri Sandeep R. Rathod, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, interacted with beneficiaries gathered in New Delhi for the celebrations.
