A higher yield can look attractive, but it may also mean you’re taking additional risk.

When evaluating a bond, don’t stop at the credit rating.
Look at the specific bond’s rating, maturity, yield, liquidity, whether it is secured or unsecured, its seniority, and the risks involved if you sell before maturity.

Remember: AAA doesn’t mean risk-free.
The right question isn’t just, “How much can I earn?”
It’s also, “What risk am I taking to earn it?”
