Hola Pune! One more training weekend, one more milestone reached!

Last Saturday and Sunday marked a new chapter for AssetPlus Academy with our first in-person NISM V-D workshop, held in Pune, with a full house! We were surprised (and thrilled) by the excitement around the new exam-prep course that opens the door to both MF and SIF distribution.

From understanding core concepts of SIF, equity, and interest rate derivatives, to unpacking key exam topics, the session was all about turning theory into practical knowledge.

July saw Mutual fund AUM hit a new all-time high of ₹85.76 Lakh Cr, up 4.3% from ₹82.22 Lakh Cr in June. SIPs continue to remain a strong pillar and are growing stronger.

Monthly SIP contributions reached ₹31,961 Cr, near-record levels. Compare that to July 2016, when monthly SIP inflows stood at just ₹3,334 Cr, nearly a 10x jump in a decade!

The SIP assets constitute 21.2% of the total AUM, at ₹18.20 Lakh Cr.

With 10.63 Cr active SIP accounts and 22.66 Lakh new folios added in July, it is clear that steady investors are building this industry, one SIP at a time.

Every successful MFD started with the same first step.

The difference is that some started earlier, giving themselves more time to learn, build investor relationships, and grow a practice over the years.

Plot twist: SIF distribution just got its new rulebook!

SEBI's July update introduced a new certification requirement, and if you're an MFD, this affects what you can distribute going forward.

In short, NISM Series V-D is now required to distribute SIFs, and it covers both Mutual Funds + SIFs under one certification. Your NISM V-A still works for Mutual Funds, no change there. But SIFs? That's V-D territory now.
