The complaint given against the Chief Executive of Railway Employees’ Co-operative Credit Society Ltd, Chennai( Chennai Urban Bank). The Chief Executive, Mr N.Manivannan, is ineligible to hold the post as he does not meet the essential minimum educational qualification, which is Graduation from recognized universities, as prescribed by the Central Registrar of Co-operative Societies, New Delhi vide his Order Dated 09.01.2024. Mr. N. Manivannan has already admitted and testified before many legal forums that he had only passed PUC. Shockingly, even after the Central Government has stipulated the “Fit and Proper Criteria” for the Chief Executive of the Multi-State Co-operative Societies, Mr.N.Manivannan refused to recuse himself from the post and clinging on to it till now. People like Mr.Manivannan are making a mockery of the good intentions of the Central Government which had amended the Multistate Cooperative Society Act to get rid of unqualified & incapable persons from controlling the wealth of the Co-operative Societies.
