What is the starting point of writing a business plan? One common answer would be to begin with identification of the purpose of your business plan… Firstly, Lay out of what your content will include, how you are planning to present your information. Your outline should include following parameters that are essential for a business plan: executive summary, company summary, product or service summary, market analysis summary, financial projections, management summary.

Securing Corporate Funding – Tip: Don’t Hide, Be Upfront

Be honest with what your company’s value is. You must understand that Investor is more clever than you actually think. In our experience we have seen too many entrepreneurs over-valuing their companies. Just a piece of advice - Be honest with the potential investor and honest with yourself. Don’t hide anything from those looking to give you money, thinking you’ll just improve or fix it later.

Today: 5 minutes workout on your spending

Minute 0:50 --- Warm up with genuine and transparent expenses account
Minute 1:05 --- Key in the details of the banks that your company is associated with (including lenders)
Minute 2:53 --- Pull out all of your transactions with each banks from your E-statement
Minute 3:45 --- Categorise expenses into 4 types : One-time expenses, Fixed Ongoing Expenses, Variable Ongoing Expense, Optional Expenses
Minute 4:35 --- Sneak in to your Optional expenses, probably you feel that few expenses are overrun because this.
Minute 5:00 --- Now that your reason for cost overrun is identified, you are set to go with your fresh budget.

Succeeding as an Entrepreneur – Rule: [Don’t] Spend Less than you earn

“Spend less than you earn”… Isn’t this the most common advice you get to hear all the time?. But do you think it’s right? The problem with this advice isn’t that it’s bad, it’s that most people already instinctively understand it. But honestly, sometime spending more is necessary to earn more. When the business scenario looks bullish in the market, many small businesses might plan to grow their business. In pursuit to meeting such growth plans, small businesses would be forced increased their budgets and should be prepared to spend more money.

Of course, I don’t want this to come off as callous; spending money for capital expenditure or any maintenance activity is wiser choice. By doing so, you tend to increase income of the company. Increasing your income and learning how to invest is an art —not just investing your money, but investing in yourself and your company —can be far more important than cutting down your bills, and they’re much harder to learn.
