SEBI STP Shift to API-Based Trade Processing

Manufacturing Is Growing, But Margins Are Under Pressure

India’s manufacturing PMI improved from 53.9 in March to 54.7 in April 2026, signalling continued expansion in factory activity 📊

But the deeper signal emerging from the data is rising margin pressure 📉
Input costs increased at the fastest pace since August 2022, driven by higher prices of aluminium, chemicals, electrical components, fuel, petroleum products, and rubber 📈

Companies also raised output prices at the quickest pace seen in the last six months, reflecting efforts to pass on rising costs to customers 📊

The key investor takeaway is clear: manufacturing growth remains visible, but profitability will increasingly depend on pricing power and efficient cost control 🎯

Cybersecurity: The New Capex Theme in BFSI

Cybersecurity is becoming one of the biggest capex themes in BFSI.

Punjab National Bank has earmarked around ₹700–800 crore for cybersecurity this financial year, nearly 20% of its technology budget. Bank of India has allocated ₹2,000 crore for IT upgrades in FY26, including cybersecurity. Indian banks are also moving technology spending closer to 10% of operating expenses.

The reason is simple.
BFSI is now deeply digital. Mobile banking, trading apps, UPI, APIs, digital onboarding, cloud systems, and third-party integrations have significantly increased the attack surface.

The next big BFSI investments will go into fraud monitoring, mule account detection, cloud security, customer data protection, app security, API protection, and AI-led cyber defence.

Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT cost.
It is becoming growth capex. 🔐
