Sanghamithra Rural Financial Services celebrated International Women’s Day at our Head Office in Bengaluru and at our Regional Office, appreciating the dedication, strength, and invaluable contributions of women.

As Maya Angelou beautifully said, “𝘌𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘶𝘱 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧, 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘺, 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵, 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘶𝘱 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯.” This sentiment reflects the spirit of the women we work with and support every day.

Empowering rural communities remains a key focus of Sanghamithra’s mission. We are deeply committed to uplifting women by strengthening Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and creating opportunities for financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods.

Through these efforts, we aim to nurture confident women leaders who can transform their families and communities. This Women’s Day, we celebrate not only the achievements of women but also reaffirm our commitment to building a more inclusive and empowered rural ecosystem where women are supported, encouraged, and given every opportunity to grow.

Sanghamithra Rural Financial Services is pleased to share highlights from the Microfinance Karnataka Summit 2026, organized by AKMI- Association of Karnataka Microfinance Institutions, held on 21 January 2026, Bangalore.

Our Founder Chairperson, Padmashree Mr. Aloysius Prakash Fernandez, addressed the gathering and shared insightful perspectives on the pivotal role of microfinance in driving inclusive growth, strengthening community institutions, and building public trust in the sector. He was also felicitated during the summit, in recognition of his sustained commitment to responsible finance and women-led development.

The summit witnessed active engagement from key stakeholders and received encouraging feedback, further amplified through media coverage. We extend our sincere thanks to the organizers for this opportunity and look forward to continued collaboration in strengthening the microfinance ecosystem.

It is an honour for Sanghamithra Rural Financial Services to witness its Founder Chairperson, Padmashree Mr. Aloysius Prakash Fernandez, being invited to participate in the Inaugural Session and felicitated by Mr. M. Nagaraju, Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS), Government of India, in recognition of his contributions in the field of Microfinance and Community finance at the 20th Sa-Dhan National Conference on Inclusive Growth, held on 13–14 November 2025 in New Delhi.

In his address and acceptance remarks, he reflected on the Indian roots of the Self-Help Group–based lending model, highlighting how savings-led institutions, structured training, and community governance laid the foundation for responsible financial inclusion. He emphasized the need to consider introducing a Credit Guarantee Scheme for the microfinance sector, strengthening fund support from NABARD for SHG training & Capacity building, and cautioned against speed-driven credit models that weaken institutions. He further reiterated the importance of aligning financial inclusion with portfolio quality, risk discipline, and long-term community growth.

His felicitation and participation in the inaugural session stand as a recognition of his decades-long contribution to microfinance, community finance, and women-led development in India.

A moment of pride for Sanghamithra Rural Financial Services to share that Smt. Annapurna Baburao Kallur received the Inclusive Finance Changemaker Award- Individual Category at the Two-Day Global Inclusive Finance Summit 2025 (13th & 14th January 2026 at New Delhi), organised by ACCESS Development Services in collaboration with the Department of Financial Services, Government of India.

Born into a poor family in rural Karnataka and overcoming lifelong physical challenges, Smt. Annapurna’s journey is a powerful story of resilience, leadership, and service. From being a member of a Self-Help Group (SHG) to becoming a Community Resource Person and later leading the Gulabi Community Managed Resource Centre (CMRC), she has been instrumental in strengthening women-led institutions at the grassroots level. Under her leadership, four CMRCs now support nearly 500 SHGs, creating sustainable livelihoods, strengthening financial inclusion, and generating employment opportunities for SHG women as Community Resource Persons. Her work spans financial literacy, safe sanitation, personal hygiene, skill development, self-employment, and basic legal awareness, directly impacting over 1,500 households and indirectly benefiting 7,000+ households.

This recognition is a tribute to her unwavering commitment over the last 11 years to empowering women, strengthening SHG ecosystems, and advancing inclusive finance in collaboration with organizations such as MYRADA, Sanghamithra, and Prakruthi.
Congratulations to Smt. Annapurna Baburao Kallur on this well-deserved honor. Your journey continues to inspire countless women to dream, lead, and transform communities.

Sanghamithra Rural Financial Services is proud and honoured to share that our Founder Chairperson, Padmashree Mr. Aloysius Prakash Fernandez, was recognized by the Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS), Government of India, at the 20th Sa-Dhan National Conference (13-14 November 2025 at New Delhi) on Inclusive Growth for his outstanding contributions to Women’s Empowerment and Financial inclusion.

In recognition of his decades of impactful work in the social sector, microfinance, and financial inclusion, Sa-Dhan conferred the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

Our Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sunil Jadli, together with the Sanghamithra team, had the privilege of representing us on this proud occasion.
