Is debt always bad for a company? Not necessarily.

Businesses may use debt to expand, build capacity, enter new markets or invest in growth.
Instead of simply asking “How much debt does the company have?”, ask:

Can it comfortably repay the debt?
Is it generating enough cash?
Is the borrowed money creating returns?

Check Debt-to-Equity, Interest Coverage, Cash Flow and ROCE.

Debt isn't the enemy. Unproductive debt is.

You don’t have to be right every time to succeed in the market.
What matters is having a process where your wins are bigger than your losses.

6 wins + 4 losses can still result in a positive outcome.
Probability + Risk-Reward + Consistency = Edge
The goal isn't perfect predictions.
It's an edge that compounds over time.

COMPANY DECODED: PRICOL

You may know Pricol as an automotive-component company.

But there is more to the business than just components.
Its products and technology cover areas such as driver information systems, connected-vehicle solutions, control systems and precision products.
As vehicles become increasingly digital and connected, understanding where companies like Pricol fit into that ecosystem becomes increasingly important.

We decode the business—not the hype.

A highly subscribed IPO must be a good investment… right?
Not so fast.
Heavy demand tells us that investors are interested. It does not, by itself, tell us whether the company is fairly valued or whether the stock will perform well over time.
Before following the crowd, look at the numbers behind the story.
Demand creates attention. Data creates perspective.

That's the idea behind DATA vs DRAMA by MY RESEARCH BOOK.

he headline tells you what happened.
The data tells you why.

Markets don't move in isolation.
Global risks can affect overall sentiment, while company-specific developments can create completely different moves beneath the surface.
So before reacting to the next market headline, ask:
What changed?
What was already priced in?
What does the data say?
That’s the difference between following the market and understanding it.

A STOCK MOVING A LOT ≠ A BAD INVESTMENT

Seeing a stock move +8%, -6%, +5%, -4% can make investors nervous. But price movement alone doesn't tell us the full story.
Volatility measures movement.
Risk measures the possibility of permanent loss.

A stock can be highly volatile and still recover strongly. Another can move quietly while its fundamentals deteriorate.
The Quant Insight: Don't judge risk only by how much a stock moves. Look deeper into the numbers, business quality, valuation and downside.

Noise isn't always risk. And stability isn't always safety.

How Maruti Suzuki Makes Money — Company Decoded

Maruti Suzuki is much more than a car manufacturer.

Its business model extends across:
🔹 Passenger vehicles
🔹 Exports
🔹 After-sales service
🔹 Finance & insurance

This ecosystem allows Maruti to generate value at multiple stages of the customer journey.

The bigger picture: Maruti’s competitive strength comes not only from the number of cars it sells, but from the scale of its product portfolio, distribution network, service ecosystem and export reach.

That’s what makes the company interesting to decode from a business perspective.

A big headline doesn't always mean a big change in fundamentals.

When Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran announced that he would not seek reappointment, Tata stocks reacted sharply.

TCS fell 3.9%, while several other Tata companies also declined.
But Tata Motors PV subsequently said its investment strategy remained unchanged, including ₹33,000–35,000 crore of planned investment in passenger and electric vehicles through FY30.

That's the difference between drama and data.
Leadership changes can create uncertainty and short-term volatility. But investors still need to ask:

What moved the Indian stock market last week?
The week of 10–14 August 2026 ended lower, with the Nifty 50 down ~0.8% and the Sensex down ~0.6%.

The major themes were:
Higher crude prices and Middle-East tensions
Tata Group developments and stock-specific selling
Sensex expiry and derivative-driven volatility
Q1 earnings, which continued to create sharp moves in individual stocks
One major example was Tata Motors PV, where Q1 profit fell 80% YoY, putting pressure on the stock.

The takeaway: Earnings mattered, but global uncertainty remained a major force behind market sentiment.
