Sree Thyagaraja Co-Op Bank Ltd was established on the basic principle of Co-Operative slogan “One for all - All for one “ in the year 1964 by a few like minded individuals of N R Colony, Thyagaraja Nagar, Bangalore This was also to encourage banking needs of lower and middle class people of savings habit and to create funds for providing financial aid fecilities to deserving members and to freed f

rom the clutches of private money lenders thrown open to all communities. When it was started in 1964 it had just 309 members and Rs.18450 Share Capital, which grew to Rs. 23,46,560 on Silver Jubilee year and Rs. 12.44 Crore on Golden Jubilee. it had grown up to more than 23,000 share holders and totally Twelve branches which are mainly located with in Bangalore city out of which for the development of rural peoples opened a branch at Taverekere, Magdi Main Road. It is not an exaggeration to say that wherever the Bank opened its branches, they were instant success.
