2) GIFT Nifty is indicating a weak opening, down around 140 points in the latest indication.
3) 23,500β23,600 is the key resistance. 23,300 is immediate support, followed by 23,100β23,000.
4) Nifty is below its 20, 50, 100 and 200-day EMAs, so the overall trend is still weak.
5) US bond yields are at very high levels, with the 10-year around 5.1%. Rising yields are pressuring global markets.
6) US Treasury bonds are under selling pressure, pushing yields higher and making investors cautious.
7) US markets also fell, adding to the negative global setup for Indian equities.
π Crude oil is up around 4.7%, back above $100. This is negative for India β higher crude means a bigger import bill and pressure on the rupee.
9) Gold and silver are under pressure as higher bond yields make interest-paying assets more attractive. If yields fall, precious metals could regain strength.
10) Dollar is strengthening, adding pressure on emerging-market currencies, including the rupee.
11) Nifty options show 23,500 Call OI as the major resistance and 23,000 Put OI as the major support.
12) PCR has improved to 1.03, while India VIX has fallen to 10.34 β volatility remains low despite the weak global setup.
High US yields, a stronger dollar, rising crude and a weak GIFT Nifty make today's setup cautious.
23,300 is the key level to watch β below it, 23,100β23,000 becomes important.
