Oil is the most celebrated natural resource among political nations which was mostly produced by Saudis and Russian. And this changed after US entered the market thanks to Shale Industry revolution. Not even 10 years down the line, US from being a net exporter of oil overtook the position of largest market share as per Sept 2019 reports at 19. Oil price during this time fell to 55-60 range from 110-120 range.

The question remains, how can an asset of such high quality become a liability suddenly? Well the answer is as simple as you can think, storage facilities ran out of storage. Clash of clans gamers will understand the pain of having low storage to run with. With oil its more complicated, when futures contracts come into picture. Delivery dates were coming nearby and for the suppliers, they had two options either sell the delivery before it reaches their shore or sell oil futures by paying so that they have storage for future.
India is a net importer of oil so from above the ocean it will seem we are benefitting from low price but the problem lies deep here. 60% of fuel is used for passenger vehicles which due to lockdown is expected to fall around 40-60% in Q2. Jet fuel demand on the other hand is expected to fall around massive 90%.
But your mind will say, that we can store to our full capacity to make use of low prices. Turns out, commercial storage is almost full. Reportedly, Reliance sought to sell Murban and al-shaheen cargoes arriving this April while its still in the sea.
We do have storage in Strategic Petroleum Reserves which Govt. has asked state-owned refineries - especially Bharat Petroleum, MRPL and IOC to fill 16-17 million storage left from 39 million capacity. @ India

Even though we are in a crisis, there is another crisis already looming at our doorstep specially India, Climate Change.

In case you're still wondering if climate change is real or not, this data will tell you better. In an analysis for temperature from year 1901-2017 with 20-year intervals, average temperature in India has risen from 23.5 - 24.5 to 25 - 26.5 celsius degree. And if you are thinking this is nothing? Here's another stat, 1% standard deviation in average temperature leads to 12.8% and 9.6% decrease in agricultural yields and real wages respectively. And even if that's not horrifying to you, here is one more number of mortality which increases by 7.3% with 1% of standard deviation, just.
For example, India's monsoon season starts from June 1 lasts till September 1 with deviation of 5 days on average. Last year, monsoon season started 8 days late leading to drought situation and then due to excessive rainfall (52% above LPA at 537 mm) and extending monsoon lasting even in August led to flood situation.

General terms:
Remember the old days when you were eating your favourite puchkas at "10 ka 20" (20 pieces at ₹10), this might become "20 ka 1" (1 piece at ₹20) soon. Food consists of major 45% of our expenses as per Consumer Price Index. And historically, food inflation is highly positive correlated with temperature levels.

RBI announced 50k crore funds directed towards MFs through Banks at 4.4% to be used for loan extension.

𝗦𝗮𝗴𝗮:
Last week, Franklin Templeton announced 6 of its debt funds will liquidify their positions as a result of Coronavirus pandemic effect. Now you can debate on whether Santosh Kamath's strategy (Chief Investment Officer at Franklin Templeton Fixed Income India) towards investing in lower graded stocks with high credit risks should be questioned by SEBI or not but it does put all other debt funds which are supposedly safer than equity or hybrid funds in red area. Especially, when Franklin Templeton is ranked 9th in terms of AUM at 1.16 trillion. The funds they are closing are worth almost 26K crores.

RBI has repeatedly said they are ready for whatever boost economy needs to survive. But is it enough? LTRO 2.0 didn't even invite bids more than 13K crore (12,850 crore to be precise) out of 25K crore in tranche 1.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻:
Its hard to be a retail investor at this time, Equity market is still recovering from the big fall from whatever little good news Govt or any institutions provides. And now Mutual Funds scheme showing signs of bad times ahead. RBI's active liquidity strategy does boost investors confidence for sometime but for how long is the question.

Imagine going to a new city and watching only two or three tourist spots, what do you think you will be left with? Two scenarios, one, that they are so good you will remember the trip by only those two three places, second, you get bumped and your whole trip surrenders for a slow and dull moments (another moment can be jigsaw finding you and putting you in a room with random people who will kill you without hesitation, but that's highly unlikely here, or maybe not).
My point here is risk analysis, when you plan a trip, you need to diversify your interests to explore culture, food, games, adventures, etc of the city so that you are always excited throughout and your chances of enjoying the benefits increases. Same can be written about your portfolio, according to a report, most young people have a under diversified portfolios and since my audience is mostly 20s, be careful please, times are bad right now, hoping they won't stick much like gum, few portfolio will ask you to enter the market now without thinking. Don't do it. Diversify yourself if you're able to, or remain in control with your manager.

I know, IPL might get cancelled due to someone finding bat delicious. But being a huge IPL fan I am, I'll stay optimistic (Both in staying alive and IPL restarting). Even though I have personally never supported CSK throughout IPL history, I always had to surrender when it comes to team experience. I mean, WHAT A TEAM! 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿
Auto industry in India is finally getting more environment friendly after 10 years of same BS norms (Bharat Stage Emission Norms) .i.e., BS IV. Though, BS V was supposed to be rolled out this year but due to prevailing high environmental pollution, in 2016 it was decided that BS V will be skipped and we will move directly to BS VI.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴:
March 31, 2020 is the last date for all BS IV vehicles to be sold. After that, only BS VI vehicles are allowed. BS VI fuel will also be available from April 1, 2020.

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲:
All BS IV vehicles are currently being offered at high discounts so that there is no leftover investory by the end of selling period. As per a report, there are currently more than 7 lakh unsold inventory with industry worth INR 6,300 crores. The new BS VI norms is likely to cost 10-15% more than BS IV vehicles, out of which 60-80% cost might be transferred to customers.

𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁:
Due to 21 days lockdown, SC on priority hearing allowed extension for BS IV vehicles for 10 days after lockdown is over .i.e., till April 25th but limited to only 10% of unsold stocks with them. So, customers can expect deep discounts on these days.

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗿-𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀:
For BS VI petrol car owners: Both type of fuel works for you.
For BS VI diesel car owners: Only BS VI diesel will work for you.
For BS IV petrol car owners: Compatible with BS VI fuels.
For BS IV diesel car owners: Can work but will affect your engine in the long term, so be careful.
