But the path of success was not that easy for him .To get financial support he initially started working at Abdul Bhais shop at madar gate where he use to make metal boxes, thereafter he started selling kachoris and samosas to meet his family requirements. Later in the year 1875 he managed to establish contacts with the management staff and started supplying PAAN to many houses of the kings and in return he use to get one gold mohar every month. He also made an arrangement to supply foreign made cigarette and cigars for the king. As a result British Govt. gave him the zonal agency of passing show. After this he started making Lemon soda and was the first person to enter the business of cold drinks. By this time his younger brother Chotteylal was young enough and he also started helping him in business. In the year 1895 they started manufacturing and selling Sharbats with their brand BHIKKILAL’s .The firm was registered by the British Govt. with the name Bhikkilal Chotteylal Agarwal and was given the registration number AJ-1. Thereafter they also started manufacturing and selling different types of Pickles, Murabbas, Syrups, Vinegars. Shri Chottey lal’s son Sh.Gaurshankar also joined the family business. At present the firm is run by Mr. Vasudev mittal, son of Sh.Gaurishankar mittal who is not only running this business but because of his passion and determination he has taken this business to a next level. Today the 5th generation Mr. Hariom Mittal and Mr. Kanhayia Mittal sons of Mr. Vasudev Mittal are the main strength of this brand. With their combine efforts and innovative approach they have not only made Bhikkilal’s a leading brand in India but also in many countries.
