The Saath Savings & Credit Cooperative Society Ltd Saath Charitable Trust (SAATH), the NGO was registered in 1989. Since its inception SAATH has been working for the holistic development of vulnerable groups.

Providing a range of Savings and Loan Product to our 30000+ members through 12 Branch offices in Ahmedabad, 1 Branch office in Surat and 1 Branch office in Kheda District. It works both in rural and urban areas. SAATH is a multi-sectoral NGO, with operations in key areas such as health, education, livelihood, advocacy, environment improvement, community participation, research and documentation. I

n the late 1990’s, SAATH started working in the areas of community based microfinance, and established the Microfinance Institute (MFI) in 2002. The growth and success in the microfinance program has led SAATH to think about reaching more vulnerable groups in the urban Ahmedabad area. The registration of cooperatives was the step towards the first generation of microfinance. In 2007, SAATH began working as a larger Microfinance institution catering to more and more clients by transferring all clients into the cooperatives system it has promoted since the beginning of SAATH’s microfinance programs. In 2002, with the registration of the two Cooperatives Sakhi Bachat & Dhiran Sahakari Mandli Limited and Ekta Bachat & Dhiran Sahakari Mandli Limited, the micro finance program of SAATH was formally established. The promoters of SAATH have played a key and pioneering role in the microfinance initiatives, which are centred on the principles of savings-based microfinance. Since 2002, the cumulative membership of these two entities has grown substantially, with around 12000 members participating today with both the credit cooperative societies merged into The Saath Savings & Credit Cooperatvie Society Ltd.
