Persistent cough is not always "just a cough." 🤧
If your cough keeps coming back or doesn't improve even after taking cough syrups, it could be a sign of an underlying lung or respiratory condition that needs proper evaluation.
In this video, Dr. Tushar Patel (M.D. Chest, F.C.C.P., F.N.C.C.P., F.I.C.S.) explains why a chronic cough should never be ignored and discusses some of the possible causes, including:
✔️ Asthma
✔️ Sinus-related problems causing chronic cough
✔️ Tuberculosis (TB) and other chest infections
✔️ Other underlying respiratory diseases
⚠️ Self-medicating with cough syrups may provide temporary relief, but it does not treat the actual cause. If your cough persists for weeks or keeps returning, consult a chest physician for an accurate diagnosis and timely treatment.
